What types of Architectural finishes are available?
Exposed aggregate, acid wash, formliner, broom, rake, brick- these finishes can be combined in some cases as well. We also have the capability of adding a liquid pigment to the mix design as well.

What types of colors are available?
There are approximately 80 colors available through the liquid color additive we use. Color ring sets can be ordered online through Dynamic Color Solutions.

Can precast panels be used as a load-bearing element?
Precast panels can be produced as a load-bearing element. Panels are designed to transfer the loads to the foundation. Load bearing panels can be produced with an architectural finish.

Why is a form finish not recommended?
We do not recommend manufacturing of precast panels with a form finish due to uniformity issues. Uniformity in color is difficult to control due to variables in raw materials etc. A form finish will expose any imperfections in the panel and make the panel appear spotted. Removal of the cement paste through a light acid wash will even out the color differences within a panel and from panel to panel making the project much more uniform in color.

What is the most economical panel size to produce and ship to the site?
This depends on the type of project. The most economical wall panel size to produce is the largest panel that can be shipped to the Jobsite without costly permits. This is generally a panel that is 9’-6” – 10’-0” in width and can be shipped in an “A” – frame for easy erection at the site.

Why should I specify a PCI Certified plant?
Without PCI certification an Architect/Engineer does not have the assurance that the Precast/Prestressed manufacturer has an ongoing quality control program in place that is nationally recognized. There is no additional cost to specify a PCI approved manufacturing Plant and the designer can be confident that they will be receiving a quality product on their project that meets or exceeds industry standards.

Why should I design my building using Precast Concrete?
Speed of erection, durability, Low maintenance, low life cycle cost, design flexibility. Precast Concrete buildings reflect permanence and prestige. Owners appreciate the speed in which their building is erected and the low maintenance required once they have taken occupation.

What can I do to reduce the cost per square foot of panels?
Design uniform panel sizes so that formwork is kept to a minimum. Larger panels allow labor and formwork costs to be amortized over a larger square foot area. Repeat panel configurations reduce form cost and decrease form modification time.

No we do not manufacture hollowcore plank.

What is your lead-time for Architectural Panels?
This depends on the size of the project and our production backlog at the time. If we partner with the architect during the design phase we can suggest configurations that may decrease the production time required to manufacture the panels as well as the submittal time for review. Do you supply all the hardware for Precast Panel Connections?
We supply all the embedded hardware in the precast concrete panel. We suggest the erector of the panels supply misc. loose connection hardware.

Do you supply additional steel supports on the structure for your precast panels?
We do not supply any additional steel framework for support of the precast concrete panels. Lakelands Concrete Products, Inc. will supply the loads imposed by the panels. If the structural framework will not support the precast concrete panels it is the responsibility of the contractor to provide the steel bracing.

Where are you located?
We are located in Lima, NY. Lima is located approximately 30 miles south of Rochester, NY. Our plant and office is located ¾ mile east of the center of town on rte’s 5 & 20.

What is your delivery territory?
Our delivery territory is not fixed. We mainly supply Architectural products in the Northeast and surrounding area. We have delivered products to Indiana, Maine and Washington D.C. Most of our utility products are supplied in New York and adjacent states.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open for pickup of material from 7:00 am – 3:00 p.m. Lakelands’ sales staff can be reached from 7:00 am – 5:00 p.m.

Will you unload the product at the jobsite?
We unload most of our products that weigh under 15,000#. We will set most of our vaults in to your prepared excavation. Contact us to verify unloading of the product you are interested in.

Yes, we will manufacture custom products.

What is your lead time on standard products?
Many of our standard products are in stock and ready for shipment. Most of our other standard products can be produced in 1 –1 ½ weeks depending on quantity.
